Το βάμμα Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, γνωστό και ως αρκουδόφυλλο, παρασκευάζεται από τα φύλλα του φυτού Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, το οποίο ανήκει στην οικογένεια Ericaceae. Το βάμμα αυτό χρησιμοποιείται στη φυτοθεραπεία για τις διουρητικές, αντιφλεγμονώδεις, και αντιμικροβιακές ιδιότητές του.

Composition of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi Tincture

Contains:

Αλκαλοειδή (π.χ. αρμπουτίνη)
Glycosides
Essential oils
Phenolic acids
Tannins
Βιταμίνες (κυρίως βιταμίνες του συμπλέγματος B)

Pharmacological Actions and Properties

1. Αντισηπτική δράση ουροποιητικού

Περιέχει αρβουτίνη (arbutin), η οποία μετατρέπεται σε υδροκινόνη στα ουροποιητικά όργανα, ασκώντας ισχυρή αντιβακτηριακή δράση. χρησιμοποιείται συχνά σε περίπτωση ουρολοίμωξης.

2. Diuretic action

Increases urine production and excretion.

3. Astringent action

Λόγω των τανινών (γαλλοτανίνες) ασκεί στυπτική δράση στους βλεννογόνους του ουροποιητικού, μειώνοντας φλεγμονές και εκκρίσεις.

4. Αντιφλεγμονώδης δράση

Reduces irritation, burning sensation, and inflammation in the bladder.

Indications for Use

Ουρολοιμώξεις (UTI) – Κυστίτιδα
Urethritis, pyelocystitis (mild to moderate, as adjunct therapy)
Urinary tract disinfection in recurrent infections

Dosage

15-20 drops in a little water or herbal tea, 2-3 times a day.

Precautions and Side Effects

Contraindicated in individuals with known allergies to bearberry or other members of the Ericaceae family.
Possible side effects: Mild gastrointestinal discomfort or allergic reactions.
Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless otherwise directed by a physician.
