GINGKO BILOBA CHARACTERISTICS

The Ginkgo biloba tree (scientific name Salisburia adiadifolia), also known as
Ginkgo, is a slow-growing deciduous tree and the only
remaining member of the ancient Ginkgo family, whose origin
can be traced back to the Mesozoic era. It originates from China but
can also be found in other parts of Asia and is cultivated mainly for its
medicinal properties. It is a long-lived tree that on average reaches
35–40 meters in height and 10 meters in trunk diameter!! During the
autumn months, Ginkgo trees are famous for their deep golden foliage and
attract large numbers of tourists.
It is an extremely hardy and persistent tree. Today, a few
Ginkgo trees remain that are estimated to be thousands of years old.

HISTORY
The Ginkgo tree is one of the oldest trees on the planet.
It appeared 270 million years ago and it is said that the leaves of the
tree formed part of the dinosaurs’ diet.
The cultivation of the tree began early in human history. In ancient
China, as early as 2,800 BC, there are references to the use of the leaves and
fruits of the plant in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
It is said that Confucius liked to teach under ginkgo trees in
China, so the tree became a symbol of enlightenment and can still be found
today outside temples in China, Japan and Korea.
The impressive resilience of ginkgo is evident in Hiroshima, Japan,
where six trees growing between 1 and 2 kilometers from the explosion of the
atomic bomb in 1945 escaped nuclear annihilation thanks to their deep
root system. A few days after the explosion they had already managed to sprout
new greenery on their branches. Thus Ginkgo became known in Japan as “the
bearer of hope” and is still used today as a symbol of Tokyo.

CHINESE MEDICINE
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, ginkgo biloba is called Bai Gou Ye and its consumption is recommended for the elimination of phlegm and dampness, as an aphrodisiac and for moving the Qi in the blood. It benefits the kidney–lung meridians.

COMPOSITION
Alcohol (in variable proportions 50%–90%), aerial parts (leaves) of the Ginkgo
biloba plant. Drinkable, natural extract from Ginkgo biloba mother tincture (D1).
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF GINKGO BILOBA
24% glycosides, 6% trilactone, bioflavones, proanthocyanidins, quercetin,
kaempferol, ginkgolides A, B, C, bilobalide.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- 30 drops diluted in 1/2 glass of water.
- 1–2 times a day for a specific period or according to the instructions
of your doctor or pharmacist.
- 20 minutes before meals
