ECHINACEA CHARACTERISTICS

Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia) is a perennial herb of the sunflower family,
originating from the northern and western regions of North America.
This plant can reach 60–180 cm in height and 25 cm in width.
Its flowering period is from July to September. During this time,
the tall stems of the plant bear beautiful single pink and purple flowers
which attract bees and other insects. The leaves of the herb are
dark green, narrow, oval with pointed tips. It is resistant to temperatures
from -25 to -40 degrees Celsius. The plant is undemanding and its
cultivation is considered easy. Today, echinacea is cultivated in many parts
of the world.

HISTORY

Echinacea takes its name from the Greek word “echinos,” meaning hedgehog, thanks to the spiky “hairy” part at the base of the flower. As the plant originates from regions of North America, it has long been an important herb for Native Americans. Tribes living in areas where the plant grew had discovered its healing properties and incorporated it into their medical practices. They used it to treat scars and burns, as well as various infections and poisonous bites. It was also part of their diet, as they chewed pieces of its roots and prepared and consumed a juice and decoction.

CHINESE MEDICINE

Echinacea, known as Zi Zhu Hua, is valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine for its ability to move and tonify the blood, clear toxins, strengthen kidney function and provide analgesic action. It activates the lung and spleen meridians.

COMPOSITION

Alcohol (in variable proportions 50% - 60%) leaves and root of the plant echinacea angustifolia. Drinkable, natural extract from mother tincture (D1).

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF ECHINACEA

pentadecadiene, pentadecene, ketoalkynes, ketoalkenes, alkamides, polyalkenes,
polyalkynes, caffeic acid, polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, sesquiterpenes and
other constituents.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

- 30 drops diluted in 1/2 glass of water
- 1–2 times a day for a specific period of time or according to the instructions
of your doctor or pharmacist.
- 20′ before food
