Quercus infectoria (Oak) is a tree of the Fagaceae family, known for the spherical swellings (“galls”) that form on its leaves and branches due to parasites. The galls are rich in tannins and are used for the preparation of a mother tincture.
Pharmacological Properties

Anti-inflammatory: reduces irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.

Antiseptic / Astringent: due to its tannins, it helps tighten tissues and promote hemostasis.

Antidiarrheal: limits diarrhea due to its astringent properties in the intestine.

Antimicrobial - Antifungal: limited activity against bacteria and fungi.
Indications for use

Skin problems: eczema, wounds, hemorrhoids

Stomach/intestinal problems: diarrhea, intestinal inflammation

Oral problems: gingivitis, mouth inflammations

Hemorrhoids and bleeding from minor wounds.
How to use
20–30 drops in a little water or herbal infusion, 1–2 times daily.

Excessive use may cause astringent disturbances or constipation.
