The Prunus armeniaca tincture, prepared from the plant Prunus armeniaca or apricot, is used in traditional phytotherapy mainly for its nutritive, antioxidant and expectorant properties. Its key constituents are oils and amygdalin, which is found in the apricot seeds.

Precautions and Side Effects
- Risk of toxicity: Apricot kernels contain amygdalin, which in large amounts can cause cyanide poisoning.
- Contraindications: To be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Side effects: At high doses, it may cause nausea, dizziness or gastrointestinal discomfort.
