Liatris spicata, commonly known as “blazing star”, is a perennial plant of the Asteraceae family, found mainly in North America. It grows in moist, sunny soils, reaching a height of 60–100 cm, with characteristic flowering spikes bearing white or purple flowers in verticillate inflorescences.
