The Anthemis nobilis tincture, also known as chamomile or Roman chamomile, is prepared from the flowers of the Anthemis nobilis plant. It is widely used in phytotherapy due to its soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic properties.
Composition of Anthemis nobilis Tincture
Contains:
- Essential oils (mainly chamazulene and bisabolol)

Pharmacological Actions and Properties
1. Spasmolytic – Antispasmodic action

Relaxes the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, relieving cramps and indigestion.
2. Soothing – Calming action

Mild sedative effect on the nervous system, reduces anxiety, nervous tension, mild insomnia.
3. Anti-inflammatory – Antiseptic action

Due to the essential oil (mainly angelic acid ester, isobutyl angelate, chamazulene) it has a local anti-inflammatory and antiseptic action on skin and mucous membranes.
4. Soothing dermatological action

Used externally for skin irritations, eczema, itching, sunburn.
5. Choleretic action

Gently stimulates bile production, helping with dyspepsia and a feeling of heaviness after meals.

Dosage
15–20 drops in a little water, 2–3 times daily.
Precautions and Side Effects
- Contraindicated in individuals with known allergies to chamomile or other members of the Asteraceae family.

- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless otherwise directed by a physician.
