Flowers – When nature heals

Dec 5, 2022

In 1930 in England, the physician Dr Edward Bach developed the system of flower therapy, preparing 38 flower remedies, which were intended to restore emotional, mental and mental balance. 60 different flowers from England were used to make the flower arrangements.

Bach, after a detailed observation of his patients, came to the conclusion that the behavior of the individual, his ideas and emotional predispositions, are related not only to the manifestation of the disease but also to some characteristics of the plant.

He then classified the emotions that lead to disease into seven major categories:

  1. - Fear
  2. – Insecurity
  3. – Lack of interest in life events
  4. – Loneliness
  5. – Excessive preoccupation with ideas that do not materialize
  6. – Hopelessness and despair
  7. – Excessive care for others

In addition to his studies in classical medicine, Bach was also a homeopathic physician. This influenced his way of thinking and that is why he stuck to the holistic approach of homeopathy to treat the cause of the disease and not just the symptom. He then observed that in every disease, the way the patient experienced played an important role
his problem, i.e. the psychological state he was in and not just the disease itself. He believed that by healing negative emotion, the body enhances its self-healing power. Unlike homeopathy, Bach used less healing material, only flowers, which aimed to treat the emotion behind any physical illness.

In the course of his research, he discovered two ways of preparing flower decoctions, the solar method and the boiling method which is carried out when the preparation of flower decoctions is done in countries with little sunshine or for plants with a woody body.

The basic method used is solar and includes the following steps:
– A glass container with spring water is placed on the ground, near the plant from which the flowers will be collected.
– The only tool needed to collect mature and healthy flowers is an insulated tool such as a long wooden or plastic tongs with which to cut the plant's flowers. The length of the tongs should be such that it keeps the energy field of the plant intact, from the human energy field.
– After the glass container is filled with flowers, they are then covered in water and left in the sun for a few hours.
– After a certain process the water is mixed with alcohol (usually brandy or cognac) for preservation purposes. This mixture constitutes the mother solution with which the final form of the flower potion will be prepared.

The complete system of 38 essential substances captures the positive potential of the plants from which they are derived and each substance corresponds to a specific emotion. The essences "work silently" on the deep beliefs and experiences of the subconscious without the intervention of the mind and swirling thoughts, they are easy to use and their choice depends on the individual needs. They can be eaten individually or
mixed with others, if this is deemed necessary. The essences come in easy-to-use, dropper bottles which bear the original Bach signature on the label.
Flower remedies belong to energy restoration practices. They can be consumed by people of all ages, the sick, the elderly, children and even animals. Their reception does not show side effects if chemical drugs are taken at the same time and they can be combined with any other therapeutic method.

Each flower arrangement has its own identity and mission, some flower arrangements that enhance the quality of life are indicated below.
