The Zanthoxylum also known as prickly ash belongs to the family RutaceaeIt is a deciduous shrub or small tree with thorny branches and intensely aromatic bark. Its leaves are compound, while its flowers and fruits are often used in herbal medicine.
Chemical Composition
Zanthoxylum tincture contains:
- Alkaloids: Xanthoxylin, canthine.
